Introduction

Are you one among who is having problem with frizzy and dry hair.if you having unmanageable hair or spending lots of time on hair before leaving to work or college . Then walk to salon try any hair treatment .

You must have also heard or read that hair smoothing cause more dry hair and make it worse after certain time, and hence I have brought all the possible information including procedure, side effects how long the treatment last and my personal experience so continue reading.

Before going to Any chemical treatment?

1)Do not apply henna for before one month going to hair treatment

2)Do Not coloured your hair before one month going to hair treatment

The reason is we have some pores in our hair roots so for every time when we apply henna/any coloured creams the pours will close for 30-40 days this is the reason we should prepare from 1 month before going to the treatment

My Personal opinion when I undergo both the treatments

My hair is little frizzy so I usually take lot of time for my hair so I undergo with both the treatments .My first treatment was smoothening in the year 2017 my experience was awesome but coming months I faced many side effects like split ends ,hairfall etc.. then again I go with Keratin treatment in year 2019 I loved the treatment even after months my hair so shiny no side effects .I personally didn’t faced any side effects in an Keratin treatment .

The both treatments lasts till I cut my hair 💇‍♀️ most people say it will last only 3-5 months both treatments in my experience the hair which you treated will stay forever till you cut the hair but the treatment will not work for newly growing hair .

What is Smoothening?

Smoothening is complete chemical treatment where our hair is looks silky and straight .

Procedure of smoothening ?

• First, the salon would wash and condition your hair.

• A stylist will then apply a straightening solution to the hair and leave it for 30 -40 minutes. The cream is responsible for making the hair straight.

• Again Wash off the cream and blow dry the hair.

• The stylist then straightens the hair and flat-irons it at a high temperature the time depends on our volume of hair

• Apply another cream for another 20- 40 minutes to the effect of ironing and for smoothening look .

• Wash off and then blow dry the hair and its done.

The whole process usually took some 3-4 hours

Immediately after the Hair Smoothing Treatment

• Do not wet your hair for three days and also you are not supposed to pin/tie your hair in any way.

• Salons will also advise you not to use hair oil for about 15 days post the smoothing process.

• While sleeping keep your hair straight.

Advantages of smoothening?

Hair is silky and straight

No need use any heat instruments like straightening or curler.

Easy to maintain

Side effects of smoothening ?

1. Hair fall Starts after one month of treatment .

2. Dry hair

3. Splits Usually after few months .

What is kertain?

A keratin is a smoothing treatment that seals the hair cuticle with a coating of protein that eliminates frizz, and adds softness and shine.

Procedure of smoothening ?

• First, the salon would wash and condition your hair.

• A stylist will then apply a protein solution to the hair and leave it for 40 -45 minutes. The cream is responsible for making the hair shine with protein .

• The stylist then straightens the hair and flat-irons it at a high temperature the time depends on our volume of hair.

• The stylist recommended the cream should stay for 2 days

• Again after 2 days back to salon Wash off and then blow dry the hair .

The whole process usually took some 2 hours

Immediately after the Hair Keratin Treatment

• Do not wet or wash your hair until next visit to salon

• Don’t tie your hair

• Try to avoid combing till next wash in salon so the cream will not wipe off

• While sleeping keep your hair straight.

Advantages of Keratin?

Hair is silky and straight with shiny look

No need use any heat instruments like straightening or curler.

Easy to maintain

It will give natural look .

No dryness / hair fall problem

Disadvantage of Keratin ?

1. Some people might need perfect straight but the perfect straight will not in Keratin it will give only natural look with anti frizz

2. High maintenance required in Keratin.

1. Try to go with reputed salons I personally suggest best salon for any hair treatments is Toni and Guy .

2. Don’t apply oil for 1-2 months after treatment
